Bangor, Maine, Man Led Police on Multiple Pursuits Before Allegedly Hitting a Cruiser

Many callers reported to police that a man was driving erratically on Mt. Hope Avenue, so several police officers responded. As they were looking for the offending vehicle, several more callers reported a similar situation with the same car, except it was headed into Downtown Bangor.

Several times on this journey, McAmbley says police tried to stop the vehicle at different points along the route, but the driver sped away each time.

Finally, on Main Street, an officer was attempting to get the driver to pull over as he headed toward the downtown area. As the car was passing the police station, officials say the driver intentionally struck a police cruiser.

Officers blocked the car in and took McDarby into custody.
