Elon Musk’s PAC Throws Financial Support Behind Susan Collins

The richest person in the world and the world’s first trillionaire is putting political money into Maine’s U.S. Senate race.

Elon Musk’s America PAC has begun spending in Maine’s U.S. Senate race, putting nearly $170,000 toward print electioneering that largely targets Democratic candidate Troy Jackson.

As Republican Sen. Susan Collins seeks a sixth term, the Maine spending is part of about $3.5 million the PAC has put into races nationwide over the past week. Musk is expected to spend up to $120 million to support Republican candidates in the 2026 midterm elections.

A political action committee, or PAC, is an organization that raises and spends money to influence elections, while a super PAC can raise and spend unlimited amounts but cannot contribute directly to or coordinate its spending with federal candidates or their campaigns.

America PAC was formed in 2024 and uses independent political spending to support Republican candidates and causes.
