Why Did Deputies Go To Senchal's Home?

Members of the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office went to Senechal's residence on the Orono Road for a probation check. This routine search is allowable by law, by a probation officer or member of law enforcement, of a person under the supervision or in the custody of the Department. That search can include the person, their residence, vehicle, papers, and/or effects as allowed by the conditions of the person's probation, parole, or release from a departmental correctional facility, as defined by the Maine Department of Corrections.

When investigators searched the Orono Road home, they found a significant amount of dangerous drugs, including approximately 205.7 grams of suspected fentanyl. In addition, they seized a firearm found in the residence.
