Maine Man Faces Charges After A Standoff In Oakland
A Maine man is now in jail after allegedly threatening his ex and creating a police standoff in Oakland.
Oakland Standoff Suspect is Being Held Without Bail
The suspect, Jason Grant, 45, of Oakland faces several charges, including:
- Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening
- Domestic Violence Terrorizing
- Violating conditions of release
- Creating a police standoff
He's being held without bail at the Waldo County Jail.

Maine State Police Say the Suspect's Ex Accused Him of Making Threats
The charges stem from a report to the State Police just after 6:00 Tuesday morning from a woman who said her ex was making threats. Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the victim told authorities that her ex-partner, Jason Grant, had made threats to cause harm not only to her but also to others in her home.
The Police Standoff in Oakland Lasted Several Hours
Members of several agencies responded to Ayer Street in Oakland and tried to persuade Grant to turn himself in. After a standoff that lasted several hours, Maine State Police Negotiators and Tactical Team Members safely took the suspect into custody.
