Much of Maine will see snow on Tuesday, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Caribou.

A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect from 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 2, to 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, for Bangor and Downeast Maine. Between 4 and 8 inches of snow are expected in those areas.

Farther north and inland -- Millinocket, Greenville and Houlton -- a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from noon on Tuesday, Dec. 2, to 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Between 3 and 5 inches are expected in those areas.

Tuesday's storm will bring the first substantial snowfall of the season for much of Maine. Thus far, parts of Aroostook County and some of Maine's mountain areas have seen some snow.

This time around, forecasters say Downeast Maine will see the most snow, and it may be heavy and wet. But there is some uncertainty about the exact track of the storm, leaving some of the snowfall totals dependent on where the storm lands.
