If you’re looking for a fun way to celebrate fall in Maine, you don’t have to look much further than Mount Desert Island.

The 29th Annual Acadia Oktoberfest is happening this weekend, bringing beer, food, live music, games, crafts, and plenty of fall fun to the “Quietside” of the island.

The Oktoberfest takes place Saturday, October 10th, from noon to 5pm at Archie’s Lobster, 90 Tremont Road, and it’s billed as Maine’s longest-running Oktoberfest.

And yes, there will be plenty of Maine beer, which sounds like the perfect way to spend a sunny, but slightly chilly autumn afternoon outside.

More than a dozen Maine brewers are expected to participate, with 20+ Maine brewers featured as part of the festival experience. There will also be food vendors and Maine specialty-food producers serving up plenty of tasty options.

If beer isn’t your only reason for going, there’s still plenty to check out. The festival will feature live music and entertainment, local artisans and crafters, Oktoberfest-style games, and the always-fun keg-tossing competition, which you have to see to believe!

Basically, it’s everything you’d want from a fall festival, with a total Maine twist.

The setting makes it even better. Oktoberfest kicks off the fall festival season on the Quietside of Mount Desert Island, making it a pretty great excuse to enjoy a fall day on the coast.

Admission is $35, while designated-driver tickets are $10.

So grab your friends, break out your Oktoberfest spirit, and get ready for a very Maine way to celebrate fall.
