Bar Harbor Residents – Here’s How to Get Your FREE 2 Hour Weekly Parking Coupon

The Bar Harbor Town Council recently approved a change to the parking ordinance, allowing Bar Harbor Residents 2 hours a week of FREE parking. Here's how to get your free 2 hour weekly parking coupon!

Beginning on August 4^th, 2026 all Bar Harbor residents are eligible to apply for a Residential Parking Coupon. The coupon will provide 2 free hours of parking each week to eligible applicants. Applications for the coupon must be completed in person at the Bar Harbor Finance Office located at the Bar Harbor Municipal Building at 93 Cottage Street in Bar Harbor. The following materials will be required to complete the application.

• Proof of current Bar Harbor excise tax and vehicle registration; and
• Proof of residency in Bar Harbor such as tax bill or utility bill
• A valid and functional email address

Once the in-person application has been approved, a coupon code will be sent to the email that was provided to the finance staff. Please allow up to 24 hours for the coupon to be activated in the system.

When active the coupon can be entered at any kiosk in Bar Harbor for up to two hours of free parking. The coupon will reset each week to provide two hours of free parking every week until the end of the paid parking season.
