Ellsworth Girls Beat Presque Isle 48-45 in Dramatic Fashion [STATS & PHOTOS]

The Ellsworth Girls Basketball Team beat the Presque Isle Wildcats 48-45 in dramatic fashion on Saturday, January 17th snapping their 4-game losing streak.

Presque Isle led 17-10 at the end of the 1st Quarter as Emily Collins sank a 3-pointer at the buzzer. Ellsworth cut the lead to 26-22 at the end of the 1st Half as Elizabeth Boles and Allie Bivins had 4 points each for the Eagles. Ellsworth led by as much as 10 points to start the 3rd Quarter before the Eagles clawed back, and it was 39-38 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Quarter Presque Isle held the lead for the majority of the quarter until Kaylee Bagley's 3-pointer put the Eagles up on top. She then made 2-4 free throws the rest of the way as the Eagles outlasted the Wildcats 48-45.

Ellsworth was led by Kaylee Bagley with 19 points including 2 3-pointers. Allie Bivins had 12 points. Cam Clough had a 3-pointer. Ellsworth was 9-14 from the free throw line.

Presque Isle was led by Marion Young with 10 points. Emily Collins had 9 points with 3 3's. Breanna Burlock had 2 3-pointers. Presque Isle was 10-18 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth is now 8-5 and wake up in 5th place in the Class B Girls Northern Maine Heal Point Standings. They will play host to Hermon on Wednesday, January 21st at 5:30 p.m. That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our FREE downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Presque Isle is also 8-5 and wake up in 8th place in the Class B Girls Northern Maine Heal Point Standings. They will play Old Town on Monday, January 19th.
