MDI Boys Beat Washington Academy 83-44 [STATS]
The MDI Boys Basketball Team came out firing scoring 32 points in the 1st Quarter and cruised to a 83-44 win over Washington Academy on Saturday afternoon, January 17th in East Machias.
MDI led 32-2 at the end of the 1stQuarter and 42-24 at the end of the 1st Half. The Trojans led 63-34 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.
MDI was paced by James Witham with 25 points and 4 3-pointers. Kenneth Stillwell had 23 points with 3 3-pointers. Dylan Still had 15 points with 2 3-pointers. Trevor Brophy and Wyatt Ford each had a 3-pointer. MDI was 8-13 from the free throw line.
Washington Academy was led by Maliki Cowell with 12 points. The Raiders were 4-4 from the free throw line.
MDI is now 12-1 and will host Old Town on Thursday, January 22nd at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370, on WDEA Internet Radio, on our FREE downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.
Washington Academy is now 8-6. They will play Foxcroft Academy on Saturday, January 24th.
