MDI High School is hosting their 1st Rehearsal-A-Thon beginning this Friday, April 10th at 3 p.m. through Saturday morning, April 11th at 8 a.m.

It's designed for members of the Symphonic Band, Chorus and Orchestra. WDEA's Chris Popper sat down with Matthew Mayo, Bronwyn Kortge and Christien Breau to find out more about what is happening

Check out the video.

As you can see from the itinerary, students from the band, chorus and orchestra will have lots of opportunities to practice and socialize and get to know each other. One of the goals is to have band members know chorus members and orchestra members know band members!

Donations are gratefully accepted to support the MDI High School Music Program. Donations may be made online HERE. Your donations to the Mount Desert Island Music Program will directly support the students in exploring a musical world beyond the Island's borders. Each contribution will go towards the MDI High School Music Department's  prospective Washington, D.C. Trip, to be held during the weekend
of MLK Jr. Day in 2028.

All of this is in preparation for the MDI High School Spring Concert dubbed "Dawn of a New Age"  a social commentary on the future of music in a world of AI. The Spring Concert will take place on Tuesday, May 12th at 6:30 p.m. in Bernard Parady Gymnasium at the High School. It will feature the Band, Chorus and Orchestra.
