The Boston Red Sox fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 10-8 in 11 innings at Fenway Park on Monday, June 9th. Boston has now played 12 extra inning games and are 4-8.

Roman Anthony made his major league debut, playing right field and batting 5th. He was 0-4 with a RBI groundout in the 9th inning. It was his 1st career run batted in. He also made an error as a ball went under his glove.

Romy Gonzalez was 2-4 with a pinch-hit double driving in 2 runs in the 6th inning. He was ejected in the 11th inning arguing balls and strikes. The ball looked to be ball 4 and would have loaded the bases. It came after Zack Kelly was squeezed at the plate in the top of the 11th inning, with 2 borderline 3rd strike calls being called balls. The Red Sox would had been out of position players, if the game had gone into the 12 inning.

Trevor Story was 2-6 with a run batted in.

Abraham Toro was 2-5 with a double and run batted in.

Rafael Devers was 0-3 walking 3 times and scored twice.

Brayan Bello started for the Red Sox and went 6.1 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 runs, 3 of which were earned. He struck out 4 and walked 1.

Boston's bullpen struggled Monday night. Brennan Bernardino, Luis Guerrero, Aroldis Chapman and Zach Kelly combined to allow 5 hits and 6 runs, striking out 4 and walking 6.
