He's such a handsome boy!

According to the SPCA of Hancock County

"I am Willard, here we sing - AWOOO! If you’re looking for a backup vocalist, I’m your guy! I’m also affectionately known to the staff here as Willie or Squillard. Other than my beautiful singing, you may also notice a little hitch in my step. I recently had to have hip surgery to fix an existing injury from before my time at the shelter. I am the sweetest, gentlest dog with a great temperament. I’m also a bit goofy and love to show off my playful side!

My ideal home will be mindful of my recent surgery and open to helping me finish the recovery process. The shelter people will show you the simple daily exercises I do to help me continue to heal. I am the most well-behaved pup when doing my exercises! I will need a home with a fenced-in yard because, as a hound dog, my nose rules over all else. I have been a very brave boy throughout my journey and now that I’m all fixed up, I am very ready to find my second chance.

To learn more about Willard, you can email the SPCA of Hancock County. You can also go in and see Willard and all the other animals for adoption Tuesday-Saturday Noon to 4.

The SPCA of Hancock County is located at 141 Bar Harbor Rd in Trenton.

And great news, Doc, who was last week's Pet of the Week was adopted and is now in his furr-ever home!

LOOK: Here are the pets banned in each state

Because the regulation of exotic animals is left to states, some organizations, including The Humane Society of the United States, advocate for federal, standardized legislation that would ban owning large cats, bears, primates, and large poisonous snakes as pets.

Read on to see which pets are banned in your home state, as well as across the nation.
