Bangor, Maine: Burlington Coat Factory Moving To New Location Near Mall
Where will Spirit Halloween go?
Plans have been made to move Burlington Coat Factory to the old Bed, Bath & Beyond building on the Bangor Mall Blvd.
The Burlington Store has been located at 229 Springer Drive since Homequarters Warehouse, which occupied the property from 1993 through 1999, closed.
Management at Burlington confirmed that the lease on the current building is up in October and says a plan is to move to a new location sometime this summer.
According to one real estate website, a property at 6 Bangor Mall Blvd was put up for sale last week for $11,730,000.
It boasts two stable tenants, including Bob's Discount Furniture, which moved into the right-hand side of the property back in 2022, and Burlington, which just signed a lease to occupy the left-hand side, as stable sources of income for whoever chooses to purchase the place.
"STABILIZED" TWO-TENANT STRIP
The asset is 100% leased, with Burlington signing a new 10-year lease. Burlington’s delivery date is May 1st and rent is expected to commence in October 2025. Bob’s has been operating at the site since 2022 on a 10-year lease."
The listing goes on to say that Bangor's Bob's Discount and Burlington Coat Factory are the only one's locations of each franchise within 130+ miles of Bangor, making them big draws for the area.
It also says that whoever takes over the building will have "minimal landlord duties" with responsibilities limited to the maintenance of the roof, the structure of the building, and the common areas.
Bob's Discount has over 150 stores nationwide, while it's said that Burlington has over 1,000.
The move across town from Springer Drive will provide Burlington with better visibility and a bigger parking lot.
