Too much heat mixed with too many spirits and not enough common sense landed a man from Braintree, Mass., in a Bangor jail over the weekend.

Kevin Reid, 30, had been attending the "Slightly Stoopid" concert at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor Saturday evening, police said.

Coming off a daytime high in the mid-80s many concertgoers were doing their best to hydrate while taking in the tunes at the concert. But, apparently, some chose to do so with booze instead of water.

At one point in the evening, Reid left the venue, and when he returned and tried to re-enter, he was denied access, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, the public information officer at the Bangor Police Department.

McAmbley said security determined that he was too intoxicated to finish out the show.

Reid did not take too kindly to the news that he'd have to miss the rest of the set, police said.

"As he was leaving the area, Reid allegedly punched a marked police cruiser. When he was being detained, he began to protest the detention with a loud and profanity-laced outburst. While an officer determined there was damage to the cruiser, other officers at the scene were able to verify with several witnesses that they had indeed see a person punch and dent the cruiser, and that person was the one being detained and yelling at the officers."

McAmbley says Reid was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

The good news is he didn't have to pay for an Uber, as the Bangor PD gave him an air-conditioned ride to the jail.
